Divine Power Academy is a registered NGO that offers tuition-free education located in Kumasi, Ghana. It is committed to providing quality education to children from economically deprived backgrounds. Founded in 2015, the Academy was established to ensure that no child is denied the opportunity to learn because of poverty.
The school was founded by Mr. John Kwame Boateng and Mrs. Joyce Antwi Boateng, lifelong entrepreneurs and community leaders whose lives were shaped by the difficulty in accessing formal education. Although neither founder had the opportunity to complete their education, they were determined to change this reality for future generations. While striving to educate all their own children, they extended their vision beyond their family to serve the wider community.
Divine Power Academy began when the founders transformed part of their private residence at Abusuakruwah, Agogoso Taxi Last Stop, into a learning space for children who could not afford school fees. What started as a small, community-driven effort has grown into a trusted educational institution that has provided consistent, tuition-free education for over 10 years.
Today, the Academy offers free education from Creche through Year 8 (we are yet to have our first year 9 or JHS 3 batch next year), delivering a comprehensive curriculum that includes English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Religious and Moral Education (RME), Creative Arts & Design, Career Technology, and elective subjects such as French. Despite operating with limited resources, the school remains committed to excellence through dedicated teachers, close student–teacher relationships, and a supportive learning environment.
At Divine Power Academy, education goes beyond academics. We focus on character development, discipline, creativity, and responsibility, helping students grow into confident and capable individuals prepared for further education and life beyond the classroom.
Our mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that poverty never determines a child’s future. Through education, compassion, and community partnership, Divine Power Academy continues to empower children with knowledge, dignity, and hope.
